A Proven, Positive, Purpose-Driven Leader.

As a nonprofit executive, and community advocate, I work hard to do good.

Making people’s lives better is what I call “heart work.” I’ll bring that heart work to the Yamhill County Commission.

LET’S MAKE PROGRESS.

A Proven Professional

Yamhill County is a business – the people’s business. County employees patrol our streets, operate our jail, oversee our elections, plan for our growth, strengthen our economy, and provide critical health and safety services from providing COVID vaccinations and substance abuse treatment to planning for wildfires, earthquakes, and other disasters.

Yamhill County runs on a $177 million annual budget and the hard work of 620 people. I’ll make sure those tax dollars, and those good people, work for everyone.

I’ve run multimillion dollar businesses, community newspapers and managed hundreds of people. I’ll bring 30 years of executive leadership experience and a track record of professional success to my role as county commissioner.

As a nonprofit leader, I have raised over $60 million for community causes, built successful human service programs and healthcare organizations. I roll up my sleeves and get results.

A Public Servant

I started my public service at age 16, when I volunteered at a nursing home in my midwest hometown. I haven’t stopped since high school.

As a community advocate, I work tirelessly to make life better for my neighbors, especially the most vulnerable.

As a 25-year Rotary Club member, I helped raise over $4 million for Lane County charities. As a United Way volunteer, I helped build a program to help Oregon girls transition out of foster care. As a member of the Lane Transit District board, appointed by the governor, I helped secure $95 million in federal funds to bring a third corridor of rapid bus service to Eugene. My community service has included feeding the homeless, helping domestic violence victims, and reading to kindergarteners.

When it comes to making progress for people, I don’t quit.

Politics does not drive what I do.

Principles do.

I believe that as a community, our problems are so tough, and our opportunities are so great, that we need everyone working together if we want to make progress.

Getting people to come together and achieve a common goal is one of my superpowers.

A Bridge-Builder

Whether you’re a Republican, Democrat, or Independent, a CEO, farmer, or nurse, I’ll work with you. Pulling together a good team is a joy and the very best teams – the ones that always land the planes – are made up of people with different backgrounds, views, and strengths.

“Collaboration” isn’t a buzzword for me. It’s my daily practice.

At the cancer clinic I manage, everyone from clinicians to front office staff pull together for patients. When you work with me, you get high expectations, you get results and you get heard.
